Kid-friendly bio:
Angela Shanté is an award winning author, teacher, and poet. She grew up in New York City in a large African American family. Most of the characters she creates are inspired by her life (like the books, THE NOISY CLASSROOM and THE NOISY CLASSROOM GOES TO THE MUSEUM), her family (like the book WHEN MY COUSINS COME TO TOWN), or her Black culture (like in the books SUNDAY DINNER and THE UNBOXING OF A BLACK GIRL). Angela currently lives in California with her dog Blue.
